PAX Australia confirmed, first details
We all knew it was going to happen, but official confirmation has come through that PAX Australia will indeed take place in Melbourne in 2013 and 2014.
PAX has never taken place outside of the US, until now. The first international PAX will take place in Melbourne from July 19 to July 21, 2013.
The announcement was made from both PAX President Robert Khoo, and Victoria's Minister for Innovation, Louise Asher. Asher stated "it is a great opportunity to showcase games culture in Australia to the rest of the world, and the exposure around the region and the world that Melbourne's games industry will gain from the event, and the number of international and domestic visitors that will be drawn to Melbourne, cannot be underestimated."
Khoo added "Melbourne has a long history of supporting the games scene, though showcasing cultural game exhibits to supporting world renowned game developers. Holding PAX Australia in Melbourne is the perfect fit for our show."
PAX Australia has opened registrations to secure a 3 day pass ($115), or single ticket ($45).
More information regarding exhibitors, special guests, and tournaments will be announced during the lead up.
